Apparently, Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is impressing in more places than on the field. According to a report from ESPN's Darren Rovell, the rookie's replica jersey has set a mark as the highest-selling in a single fiscal year. The league started keeping track of these metrics, and league spokesperson Joanna Hunter told Rovell that Griffin's No. 10 jersey has already outpaced the previous high-seller -- the Brett Favre replicas from 2008 when Favre was with the New York Jets, and in 2009, when Favre was with the Minnesota Vikings.

More impressive is that the Griffin jersey has outpaced all others in a fiscal year that runs from April 1 through March 31 -- which means that Griffin's jersey has three more months to break its own record.

The NFL would not release official sales numbers from its own website, but sales numbers for Redskins merchandise on Fanatics.com have increased 252 percent over the same span in 2011, spokesman Meier Raivich told Rovell. In addition, the signature RG3 socks sold by adidas have sold out, the company says.

Not bad at $20 per pair.

Rounding out the top 10 in official jersey sales for 2012 (as of the end of November): Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning, Tom Brady, Andrew Luck, Victor Cruz, Tim Tebow, Troy Polamalu, and Patrick Willis. Houston Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt's replica jersey is the fastest-rising off the Top 10 list, moving from out of the Top 25 to No. 17. Meanwhile, the replicas of Tony Romo are plummeting of late -- down to No. 20 from No. 14.
