We're still not 100 percent sure why Robert Griffin III turned down an opportunity to work out for the Indianapolis Colts (and it's really not a big deal), but here's one thing we do know -- the man who will either go first or second in this month's NFL Draft is a major, major fan of Baylor basketball. RGIII was often seen in the crowd as the Baylor men's team drove to the Elite 8, and he was repping it hard as the Lady Bears finished a perfect 40-0 season with a decisive 80-61 win over Notre Dame in the NCAA Women's final.

Not a bad year for Baylor athletics. (@RobertGriffin_3)

After the game, Griffin cut down the net, and posed with the team that put up the only 40-win undefeated season in the history of college basketball -- that's men's or women's basketball, by the way.

At his Pro Day on March 21, Griffin talked about his affiliation with the basketball teams of his alma mater.

"It's been great to watch the boys and the girls play. Everybody does brackets now. I'm not too heavy into the brackets game. But it's been fun to watch. We had the electricity socks on today [neon yellow socks for workouts] representing the boys' basketball team. We like what we're seeing. Hopefully, they can keep going, both teams. If they make it to the Final Four, the national championship, I'll definitely be there."

And he definitely was. On Saturday, Griffin took a plane from a Northern Virginia card signing to Denver, where the Lady Bears were getting ready to plow through the Final Four.

It seems that RGIII, who also starred in basketball and track at Copperas Cove High School in Texas, challenged power forward Brittney Griner to a dunk contest. Not sure that's wise on Griffin's part -- he may be one of the best college football players I've ever seen, but Griner is 6-foot-8, and ready for the challenge.

"Yes he did, and I told him I'm going to dunk on him," Griner said on Saturday from Denver. We have no doubt.

Perhaps Roger Goodell can find a way to work that into next year's scouting combine.
