In his first NFL season, Baltimore Ravens running back Bernard Pierce rushed for 532 yards in the regular season, added 202 in the postseason, put up a couple of 100-yard games, established himself as a quality rotation-mate for Ray Rice, and got himself a Super Bowl ring.

However, one part of the former Temple standout's offseason has not been quite as successful. As first reported by CBS Philly, Pierce was robbed at gunpoint in Philadelphia on Sunday night, and his BMW was stolen. From the report:

Pierce and a male companion, sources say, were shaken but were not injured during the robbery. Sources say a gunman jumped from a car while his accomplice remained behind the wheel and robbed Pierce and his companion, then stole the vehicle.

The car was recovered in another part of the city and taken to the police garage, where it was carefully processed for any possible evidence that might lead to a suspect.

“Bernard’s fine,” Pierce's agent, Martin Magid, told the Baltimore Sun on Tuesday. “The police are investigating the incident. Any questions about it should be forwarded to the Philadelphia Police Department. It’s not the best situation, but he’s good.”

The Ravens issued a statement via e-mail: “We have been in contact with Bernard and we are aware of the situation.”
