Presenting the Shutdown Corner Midseason All-Pro team and first-half awards

Eric Edholm

It's the midpoint (roughly) of the 2013 season, and pretty much everything we predicted in August has been trashed.

Nearly a third of the NFL teams have had to make quarterback changes. Four 2012 playoff teams — the Minnesota Vikings, Washington Redskins, Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons — have a combined mark of 7-21. The champion Baltimore Ravens are trudging along at 3-4.

But we're here to celebrate the first half — the surprises, standouts and superlatives — and make a few predictions of how the second half of the season will turn out.

The Shutdown Corner team of Frank Schwab, Jay Busbee, Anwar Richardson and Eric Edholm cast votes at each position for our midseason All-Pro picks (12 on offense and 12 on defense, to account for various schemes), plus a few other picks for our favorite moments through Week 8.

Let us know how we did.
