The NFL has levied its first fine of the season, and it's a beaut: $100,000 against Detroit's Ndamukong Suh for a low block on Minnesota center John Sullivan on Sunday.

The hit occurred just after Detroit's DeAndre Levy intercepted a Christian Ponder pass. Suh came in low on Sullivan, taking him out at the knees and sending him to the turf. The immediate consensus was that Suh's move was a dirty play and one likely worthy of disciplinary action.

Fox Sports' Jay Glazer indicated on Tuesday that the league was considering at least a $100,000 fine on Suh, and indeed that was the case.

Suh has a long and less-than-distinguished history of cheap play. He's been fined for Thanksgiving misconduct twice, once for stomping on Green Bay's Evan Dietrich-Smith, and another time for crotch-kicking Houston's Matt Schaub. At least he used his body this time around.
