Vikings fans, I'd like to tell you that your problems are solved with a change at quarterback this week.
You might think that's the case, but it's only because you haven't seen Matt Cassel play yet. But you will this Sunday. Christian Ponder has a fractured rib and Cassel will start against the Steelers in London, the team announced. One would assume that a few quarters of seeing the backup in action will end all of the weird "Can Cassel save the Vikings?" momentum.

Over the last two years, Cassel had 16 touchdowns and 21 interceptions for the Chiefs. He and overmatched coach Romeo Crennel were the major reasons Kansas City's talented roster went 2-14 last year. The Chiefs are 3-0 this year with mediocre Alex Smith (and new coach Andy Reid) at quarterback. Not too hard to figure that out.
That people were clamoring for Cassel just tells you just how fed up they are with Ponder.
So the 0-3 Vikings now turn to a quarterback whose team won one of his eight starts last year, against a Steelers team that is also 0-3. We're sorry London, we'll try to provide something better next time.
