SEATTLE – The Marshawn Lynch infatuation with Skittles has become a bit of a legend around these parts, and he probably didn't think it would end up with him getting pelted with the candy by fans.
Given the circumstances, he probably didn't mind too much.
Seattle's running back, known by fans simply by his "Beast Mode" nickname, scored in the second quarter to put the Seahawks ahead 13-0. And fans in the south end zone threw Skittles at him to celebrate.
Quarterback Russell Wilson got caught in the crossfire and tasted a few rainbows of fruit flavors from the fans. Fox showed the replay of Wilson getting pelted.
Again, if touchdowns bring a torrent of Skittles, the Seahawks aren't going to complain too much.
Perhaps the Skittles came from the "Beast Burger" that was being sold at CenturyLink Field for Saturday's playoff game. The burger came with bacon, ham and onion rings on it ... with a side of Skittles, of course.
Good thing that Lynch wasn't a big fan of full-size Snickers bars or anything like that, because having that thrown at him might have been a bit more dangerous to his well-being than Skittles.
