Oakland police told the Associated Press that a man fell from the upper deck at Oakland's O.co Coliseum just after the start of Thursday night's Oakland Raiders-Denver Broncos game, and that the man is in serious condition at a local hospital.

According to Oakland police officer Kevin McDonald, the man fell from the third deck and landed on the concrete of the lower concourse shortly after the game's 5:30 p.m. start. McDonald told the AP that initial reports indicated that the fall was accidental, but that the investigation is ongoing.

The Raiders, who lost to the Broncos by a 26-13 score, issued the following statement to NBC Bay Area:

"While we do not yet have any information beyond that which has been publicly reported, our thoughts and prayers are with this gentleman and his family and friends."
