The National Football Post is reporting the running back LeGarrette Blount has agreed to a two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers after visiting the team on Friday.

Blount, 27, finished last season strong in a career-reviving year with the New England Patriots. The 6-foot, 250-pound Blount used his powerful running style to run for 772 yards and seven touchdowns during the  season for New England, including a 189-yard, two-touchdown game in Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills.

In a playoff victory over the Indianapolis Colts, Blount rushed for 166 yards and four touchdowns.

The Patriots were interested in re-signing Blount. The Baltimore Ravens also showed interest in him.

In four NFL seasons with the Tampa Buccaneers and Patriots, Blount has rushed for 2,711 yards and 20 touchdowns, averaging 4.7 yards per carry for his career.

The Steelers said last week they were interested in adding a complementary back behind starter Le'Veon Bell, who was strong as a rookie but also fought through injuries in 2013.
