Lamar Miller is a talented, young player who flashes enough eye-opening ability to make you wonder why the Miami Dolphins coaches don't give him the ball more.
On one play Thursday night against the Cincinnati Bengals, we saw Miller's career encapsulated in a single play.
Miller takes the handoff on the stretch play, cuts hard, breaks a tackle, avoids another one, toes the sideline and bursts into the open field ... only to fumble once he got inside the red zone.
Miller was averaging 11 carries per game coming into Thursday. And on a third and short early in the game, the Dolphins didn't give Miller the ball there; they went to Daniel Thomas instead.
Clearly, the coaches don't fully trust Miller. This carry tells a lot.
