You'd think by this point that Johnny Manziel would know that every minute of every day he's in public that he's going to be on camera, but somehow he was still apparently surprised that the bird he flipped to the Redskins was caught on camera.

Here's video of Rob McBurnett, Cleveland's communications coordinator, telling Manziel something shortly after The Bird Took Flight. See if you think it's the same thing we do:

Consensus opinion seems to be that Manziel just learned his little offhand gesture had gone national and set off a thousand hot-take JOHNNY FOOTBALL IS A PUNK columns and comments.

So what fired up Manziel?

"I can tell you what the statement was that set him off," Redskins safety Ryan Clark told "Mike & Mike" Tuesday morning. "'This isn't college any more and these people are faster than you are.'

"He didn't like it. That was me cleaning up the statement but that's pretty close to what it was."

It's way too early to be letting them under your skin like that, Johnny. Gonna be a loooong season.
