Johnny Manziel does not have an NFL contract yet, but he already has a McDonald’s commercial appearance.
Of course, the Arch Deluxe's appearance lasted longer than Manziel’s brief cameo, but not by much.
The former Heisman-winner appeared in a McDonald’s commercial with LeBron James and soccer star Alex Morgan to promote the “Bacon Clubhouse Sandwich.” James enters a secret club, or weird society of McDonald’s enthusiasts, and is rewarded with the new sandwich.
As James walks through this underground club, Manziel spots James and strikes the Heisman pose. Manziel is allowed into this place before James? Somebody let Grimace know James should be on the VIP list.
Manziel probably snagged the commercial appearance because he signed with LRMR, a marketing and management firm run by Maverick Carter, LeBron’s longtime associate. James and Manziel have been spotted at several events, and it makes sense for LRMR to hop on the Johnny Football bandwagon before his NFL career begins.
We can only hope McDonald’s puts Manziel in front of a piano one day to make a vintage commercial:
