Jimmy Fallon merges Tim Tebow and David Bowie

What would happen if Tim Tebow and David Bowie merged into one person? Presenting, from Thursday night's Jimmy Fallon show … Tebowie.

I really thought we'd gone as far as we could go with Tim Tebow parodies and tribute videos, but that's outstanding. If you happen to be too young to appreciate David Bowie, here's the song we're parodying: Space Oddity.

Much respect to Jimmy Fallon and the show's writers. That's perfect.

Jimmy is friends with Bowie. Bowie already said he loved it. It was a joke people!!! It`s not an attack on Jesus either. HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Treeman, It was mocking of God/Jesus/Holy Spirit . Jimmy Fallon
was making fun of Jesus and Tebow. I know you have your beliefs but Christians also have theirs and Jesus is my Lord and Savior. The devil is alive and well searching for people he might devour. Looks like a lot have been swayed by him.
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.

The great thing about this is that Tebow is such a laid back guy, he's just going to laugh along. He believes in what he loves, he has faith in the big guy and nobody can shake that. I knew Tim in college and he truly was a down to earth guy, signing autographs for anyone at any time, always focused and never a scratch on his reputation. Well rounded guy.
      • LoveMyFamily 4 months ago
I agree that If you laugh because of Tim, he would be ok. But if you make fun at his Faith or Christ, then he will not laugh.

And I knew Bowie in college.

One day these people who laugh at God and Christianity and Jesus will have to answer for it. Go Tebow!!!!I I'm not a Broncos fan but I am a Christian so Tebow you have another fan because of your enormous faith in our lord. My prayers go out to you brother.....

I think way too much is being made of Tim Tebow's practice of giving thanks at a game. It may be a little over the top and in your face, but people of other religions also give thanks just maybe not so obvious when they play. Its a paraody song and unfortunately a lot of people wont see the humor because it touches on religion. We all need to be able to laugh at ourself no matter what faith we profess.

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Not religion, it's Christianity. You can be religious about fishing. hunting or whatever but Christianity is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ asking him into your heart and letting him be the Lord of your life. Christians laugh about a lot of things but not mocking GOD.

yeah, hmmm lots of guys in all sports take a knee or point up and all sorts of other things. Too much made of Tebow and this song. I don`t think Jimmy was making fun of God. I`ve heard preachers tell their little Christian jokes in church!!! Oh wait, that`s different. Hmmmm

The song didn't mock God, relax.

Lol, that's pretty funny. I don't think that Tebow prays to win football games though. I heard that he prays for the safety of everyone on the field and when something good does happen he gives the GLORY to God and tries to take none for himself. He's a humble guy win or lose you won't hear him saying "me, I, or my", you'll hear him say "teammates, they, we, or us" and that pretty darn admirable.

On Jan. 8, 2012, three years to the date that he caused millions of football fans to Google the meaning of John 3:16, Tebow played his first playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. And … Tebow threw for 316 yards.
Tebow averaged 31.6 yards per completion, the highest single-game postseason completion average in NFL history.
Ben Roethlisberger's second-quarter interception, which led to a Matt Prater field goal and a 17-6 Broncos lead, came on a third-and-16.
The Steelers finished the game with a time of possession of 31:06.
And at the time Tebow threw the game-winning 80-yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas -- the NFL's longest postseason pass in overtime history -- CBS' final quarter-hour overnight ratings were, yes, a 31.6.

To enjoy watching a QB play that kneels on one knee after a TD. or one who has been charged with sexual abuse...bar fights....Drug and gambling problems or fights dogs in his spare time.........I think I watch the guy who kneels on one knee.

I have come to the conclusion that the media/entertainment industry is more obssessed with Tim Tebow's faith than Tim Tebow. Every interview I have seen with Tebow he begins with thanking and giving glory to Jesus. That's all he's ever said about it except when they miked him up for a game. My advice is this, if you don't want to hear about Jesus, stop sticking a microphine in his face. This kid being mocked for his overdoing his faith, but I think that it's ESPN, NFL, NBC, SNL, sports radio that is overdoing Tim Tebow's faith. Leave the kid alone. God forbid we have an athlete who loves God and is a good guy. No we'd rather promote steroid ridden, drug infested, having 12 kids with 12 different women, divorced 4 times before their 40, self absorbed athletes/celebraties. Yeah...That's much better.

I wish I could sing that good. But Jimmie, get it right - don't put your knuckles on your forehead - put the top of your fist, like Tim does. I like Tim and admire his will power. He truly seems to be a good guy.

People are focusing too much on the Tebow part, let's talk about how great of a Bowie impression this is. I thought Fallon did a great job lookwise and soundwise!

Praise God for a football player who is not ashamed of his faith in Jesus Christ!!!!! One person posted what I believe is true, that the media is making more of Tebow's faith than Tebow does. One thing that I wholeheartedly believe is that Tebow is living his faith out in the open, unashamedly! He doesn't pray for God to let his team win. He prays for the safety of each player. If I had to guess, I would guess he also prays to play and respond in a Christian attitude. He's not perfect and he doesn't claim to be perfect. Christians are not perfect but we are forgiven. What men think of Tebow doesn't matter to him. He lives his life concerned about what God thinks of him and that's what matters most!!!! What's awesome is that Tebow's testimony is reaching far more than anyone ever thought, just because of the media. I'm thankful that is the case and I pray that God's grace will be sufficient for Tebow in the persecution he is receiving. God is getting all the glory and Tebow will be blessed beyond measure.

Christians deserve credit for at least this. If Fallon were to do a similar bit involving Mohammed, pro-Islamic special interest groups such as CAIR and the like, would be screaming for retribution, declaring as an outrage Fallon's blasphemy. There may be some Christians that will express their distaste over this piece, but by and large, Fallon and his show will be shown tolerance. Don't be too hard on the Christians. They are far less dangerous than the so called "religion of peace."

Most people understand why its wrong to poke fun at one another's faith, and why tolerance is so important. So, then, why is it now cool to make jokes about Christianity?
    • Shemp Howard  •  4 months ago
I would bet that if Jesus were alive today that he would hate that his true words were misconstrued to build mega churches, making millionaire preachers, and being more about recruitment for more of the same. Jesus probably wouldn't even hang out there.

This goes beyond sports....This goes beyond religion. This reaches the soul of America. In a league of forgiven felons maybe Tebow should inspire the rest of us instead of mocking and tearing him down. It's easy to forgive imperfection. Not so easy with a person that in many ways appears better than most of us.
