You might need to add wide receiver to the Jacksonville Jaguars' list of needs.

Per Florida Times-Union writer Ryan O'Halloran, Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell said at his pre-draft press conference that the team is preparing as if suspended wide receiver Justin Blackmon is not a part of the team's picture right now for 2014.

That doesn't mean things can't change for Blackmon, who is serving an indefinite suspension for multiple violations of the NFL's substance-abuse policy currently. Although Blackmon's talent is undeniable, he has been wholly unreliable so far in the team's eyes.

In four starts before the suspension hit, Blackmon was starting to show what kind of talent he was with 29 catches for 415 yards and a touchdown. But now there are only more questions about his NFL future.

The Jaguars currently feature Cecil Shorts, 2013 draft picks Ace Sanders and Denard Robinson, Mike Brown, Kerry Taylor, Lamaar Thomas, Tandon Doss and a bunch of unknowns. Frankly, they could use some size while Blackmon is out of the picture.

Of course, they also need a quarterback first. And another running back.

Don't get us wrong — we are as geeked as anyone for the revival of this team, and Gus Bradley and Caldwell have things very much on the upswing. But there's still work to be done, starting with May 8-10.
