The first NFL Sunday was not without injuries. The most notable players who went down:
John Skelton -- The intense quarterback controversy in Arizona ended up being a moot point during the Cardinals' game against the Seattle Seahawks. Skelton was carted off the field with a right ankle injury and Kevin Kolb came in during the Cardinals' 20-16 win.
Dwight Freeney -- Freeney sprained his ankle during the Indianapolis Colts' loss to the Chicago Bears. The linebacker will undergo an MRI.
Jake Locker -- Tennessee Titans quarterback Locker tackled Patrick Chung after the New England Patriots safety picked up Nate Washington's fumble. Locker's shoulder was injured on the play. Though he was throwing passes on the sideline afterward, the Tennessee staff decided to keep him out of action.
Fred Jackson -- During a 48-28 loss to the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills running back Jackson injured his knee. He will have an MRI on Monday.
Charles Tillman -- The Bears cornerback injured his ankle early in Chicago's rout of Indianapolis. The extent of his injury is not known, though Tillman's teammate Tim Jennings said it was nothing serious.
