November 13, 2008 -- Chad Ocho Cinco credits Donovan McNabb for attitude adjustment

Chad Ocho Cinco is crediting Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb with helping him adjust his attitude at the start of training camp.

"I blew his phone up," Ocho Cinco said Wednesday, according to the Inquirer. "Donovan was a big influence ... He took me in that direction, instead of thinking about, 'Oh, I'm tired of losing and I don't want to be here anymore,' but just thinking about, 'Man, a lot of people wish they were in your shoes just to have the ability to play in the NFL.' That kind of turned me around, and that's why I've been as positive as I have been this year, and even though we're losing, man, I've just been plugging away."

November 20, 2008 -- Chad Ocho Cinco violates team rule, will be benched

The Cincinnati Bengals say Chad Ocho Cinco, the wide receiver formerly known as Chad Johnson, will be deactivated for Thursday night's game with the Pittsburgh Steelers for violating a team rule.

The Bengals did not specify the violation and said there would be no further comment until after the game.

(Note: It's rumored that Johnson overslept for a meeting and argued with a coach.)
