His latest overshare came Wednesday morning when he told his Twitter followers about an accident that nearly had him bringing a gun to the Cardinals practice facility.
@ddockett: Damn I almost brung my "ROCKET" into work this morning like gilbert arenas. But mine was by accident it was in my book bag.
@ddockett: Kept sayin to myself why is my book bag so heavy, looked in side it was Big pookey"nickel plated Glock 40" trying to come to work w/me! Smh
Of course! Happens to me all the time, because books and guns belong together like peanut butter and jelly. I can't tell you how many times I've had to say to some librarian, "WHAT?! You have a no firearms policy? THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!" SMH indeed.
The Twitter saga doesn't end there, though. Apparently, Darnell got a little bit of grief from people on Twitter, and defended himself thusly.
@ddockett:: The gun laws in Az are super cool! I can damn near have a rGrenade launcher on the seat and long as its registerd I'm good. Lol nice
Dockett's right. The gun laws in Arizona are super cool, if you happen to believe that everyone should be able to buy a gun after an instant background check, with no waiting period, and then carry that gun pretty much wherever they want, including, sometime soon, classrooms.
So Dockett hasn't done anything even close to illegal here, and probably hasn't done anything wrong, unless you want to get into an argument about the second amendment. I'll keep an eye out for that in the comments, where I'm sure that everyone will come together with a rational, sensible consensus by sometime Wednesday afternoon.
No matter what happens, though, I will always support Darnell Dockett's right to express himself on Twitter.
Gracias, Sports Grid.
