Concerns about a neck issue for Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones have raised red flags among several NFL teams, Mike Florio of reports.

Jones began his NFL career at the University of Southern California before transferring to Georgia after USC's doctors recommended he quit playing football due to spinal stenosis, a degenerative condition where the spinal canal narrows. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported earlier this week that Jones would not go through the workout at the combine, opting instead to focus on his pro day workout in Athens, Georgia in March.

Jones is in Indianapolis to go through the interviews and medical evaluations with NFL teams.

In two seasons at Georgia, the 6-foot-3, 241-pound Jones had 28 sacks and one interception and was twice named an All-American before declaring early for the draft following the 2012 season. Jones is widely-regarded as a potential Top 10 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and occupies the No. 10 spot on the initial "Shutdown Corner Big Board".

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski missed his final season at the University of Arizona due to a back injury and there was pre-draft speculation that he had spinal stenosis. Gronkowski fell to the Patriots in the second round and did not miss a game in his first two seasons in the NFL while emerging as the top tight end in the league. So while a medical red flag could drop a player down a few spots, it only takes one team to not have an issue with Jones' neck and make the edge rusher their pick.
