Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay took a hiatus while seeking treatment in a health care facility, but was back in action during the NFL draft on Friday.
Irsay was spotted in Indianapolis’ war room by NFL Network cameras during Day 2 of the draft. Irsay recently acknowledged his return through Twitter:
Just wanna thank ColtsNation for all the love n support! Humbling! Quiet night in DraftRoom/ back at it 2morrow(but I never know with Grigs)— Jim Irsay (@JimIrsay) May 9, 2014
Really missed you guys! Your kindness will never be forgotten! Doing everything I can to make 2014-15 season special for all of us! Go Colts— Jim Irsay (@JimIrsay) May 9, 2014
Irsay voluntarily checked himself into a health care facility to undergo treatment in March after being arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving. He faces four felony counts of possession of a controlled substance. Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Irsay’s oldest daughter, filled in for her father during his absence.
The arrest was near his home after he was spotted driving slowly, stopping in the roadway and failing to use a turn signal. Police said Irsay failed several roadside field sobriety tests and said they found multiple prescription drugs in his vehicle.
Irsay could be disciplined by the league. For now, Irsay is back at work and enjoying the NFL draft.
