Check out Wisconsin native Colin Kaepernick wearing a Packers jersey as a young kid

Colin Kaepernick was born in Milwaukee in 1987, so he was five years old when Brett Favre came to Green Bay to turn around the Packers' franchise.

Of course he was a Packers fan and a Favre fan as a youngster; it would be strange if he wasn't. As most Wisconsinites do, he made a trip to Lambeau Field as a youngster and had his picture taken outside the famous stadium. Little did he know that years later it would end up being passed around on the Internet as he prepared to lead his 49ers into a playoff game against the Packers.

That's pretty cool. Here's a little then and now with Kaepernick, the 49ers' star quarterback:

And it's worth noting that Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was born in California and used to be a 49ers fan:

Kaepernick likes to play it pretty cool with the media and didn't offer much insight into how he felt about returning to Lambeau Field as a player. He did say he was sad when Terrell Owens' final-second catch beat the Packers in the playoffs at the end of the 1998 season, and he gets back to Wisconsin every once in a while to see family. But he didn't get sappy when asked about his first time as a player at Lambeau last season, when he was still Alex Smith's backup.

“No, I don’t worry about that," Kaepernick said when asked if there was any sentimentality in that return.

But if you look at the picture of him from so many years ago, it's hard to imagine that starting a playoff game at Lambeau Field isn't a bit special for Kaepernick.
