Chargers rookie defensive tackle can't intercept pass with facemask (Video)

Kids will try almost anything on video these days to become famous, but we'll assume that San Diego Chargers rookie defensive tackle Ricky Tjong-A-Tjoe wasn't doing this intentionally in his preseason debut.

Tjong-A-Tjoe — which, by the way ... excellent name, dude — was in the game with the scrubs in the fourth quarter of the Chargers' win over the Dallas Cowboys when a funny play ensued.

The Amsterdam-born Tjong-A-Tjoe almost intercepted a pass. With his facemask, no less. Eventful first NFL game for the 309-pound Boise State lineman. It goes down as a pass defended, but obviously Mr. T-A-T wishes he could have gotten his hands up first.

No Tony Romo or Brandon Weeden jokes here — the Cowboys' quarterback was fourth-stringer and former West Texas A&M rookie Dustin Vaughan, who also was making his NFL debut. Neither he nor Tjong-A-Tjoe did much statistically in the game, but they forever will be connected (in our sick, twisted and cluttered minds) for this goofy play.
