Chad Ochocinco ignores Twitter follower; makes it up to him

Chad Ochocinco (Getty Images)A lot of people feel a lot of different ways about Tim Tebow and the Tim Tebow media experience, but has anyone ever stopped to consider how this has affected Chad Ochocinco?

That man's need for media attention has fed his co-dependent relationship with the media and sports blogs for years. The Ocho needs headlines. But right now, for anyone to grab a headline from Tim Tebow, it seems like they'd have to go full O.J.

Fortunately, Chad Ochocinco's found a workaround. He's done something awesome, and it warrants attention.

A few days ago, a college student named Victor Gonzalez let Chad know on Twitter that he'd been tweeting to him for two years and had not gotten a response. What do you have to say to that, Chad?

    Twitter

He's making it happen, too. The Ocho has hooked Victor up with a ticket to the game, a plane ticket and a hotel room. Victor will be in the house to see Chad and Tom Brady and the Patriots take on the Broncos and their somewhat popular quarterback.

Nice work, Ocho. You're a kind man.

    Gracias, Larry Brown Sports.

Treating people to food (something we all need, and therefore a common ground) is a valiant thing. People have been sharing food as a means of kindness for millenia.

Do you even personally know 80% of the players in the league? Just a thought.

Follow him on twitter he always plays a wheres ocho game and if you find him he treats everyone to dinner or a movie that kinda thing. Best part is he tells you exactly where and when he is going to be there. Never cared much for his antics but always thought alot of his generous nature. If more atheletes were like him the face of sports would be more well liked.

I can remember him coming to play my Saints in the Super Dome as a Bengal in '06 or '07. There was a handicap kid heckling him all game on the sidelines. After Ocho finished torching Fred Thomas for almost 200 yds, he walked up to the kid, had someone help him on the field & laughed & talked to the kid for a long time after signing a football for him. Regardless of his antics & need for media attention, he truly is an admirable guy. I earned alot of respect for him that day.

      Chads a good guy.
He noticed kids following him in admiration at a Cincinnati Mall, and he took them to the food court and ate with them, and I believe he followed that up with taking them into the game store for some games.

He played optimist football in Pembroke Pines Fl. When my son was in the team the coach wanted to take them to a tournament. He had coached Chad in Optimist football. He called him and asked if he would pay to get the entire team, coaches and parents warm up jackets with the team's name, The Bengals on them. He sent him a check right away I think to the tune of 5 or 6 thousand dollars.
