Quarterback Case Keenum had played pretty well since taking over for injured Matt Schaub, and even though the Texans looked pretty bad for most of the first three quarters against Oakland on Sunday, it wasn't all Keenum's fault.
But the Texans apparently have an unconditional loyalty to Schaub, so they had a quick hook with Keenum.
Schaub came in after Keenum was benched to jump start the Texans, and the response wasn't all that positive.
Schaub's getting booed on every incomplete pass. #Texans

Um, I think it's safe to say the #Texans fans are not happy Matt Schaub is playing quarterback.

Schaub had struggled mightily earlier this season before getting hurt, and Keenum had played pretty well and offered some optimism in what has been a horrendous season for Houston.
Keenum was 13-of-24 for 170 yards, a touchdown and an interception against Oakland when Schaub replaced him. Those aren't great numbers, but certainly not worth being benched, except by a coaching staff that for some reason would rather go with a struggling veteran over an exciting and intriguing young player despite coming into the game with a 2-7 record.
