Cardinals defensive back Tyrann Mathieu has had a heck of a start to his NFL career, coming up with a number of big plays. And he has also been completely clear of any controversy.
[Photos: Best action from NFL Week 6]His attempt to perform an old school professional wrestling hip toss on 49ers running back Kendall Hunter well after he scored isn't the dirtiest thing that has ever happened on a NFL field, but the 49ers still didn't seem too thrilled with it.
Mathieu was getting dragged along by Hunter after he tried unsuccessfully to stop Hunter from getting in the end zone, and got frustrated. So about five yards after Hunter had crossed the goal line, Mathieu let out his anger and flipped him on his back.
Some 49ers took exception to that, particularly Anquan Boldin, who head-butted him as he got in the rookie's face.
Mathieu, who became popular in college because of his playmaking ability and his catchy "Honey Badger" nickname, came to the NFL with a ton of baggage. He was booted off LSU's team for the 2012 season and fell in the draft due to some red flags, mostly stemming from his marijuana use.Mathieu is just a NFL rookie, and will learn that it's probably not the best look to cheap shot another NFL player after he scores.
