Maybe someone told Davone Bess to do something to deflect the attention off the picture he posted on social media that appeared to show marijuana. Assaulting an officer probably isn't what they had in mind.
The marijuana picture is not Bess' biggest problem anymore after the Browns receiver was arrested at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport on Friday morning, according to the CBS affiliate in Miami and the NBC affiliate as well. He was charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer, NBC said, and the incident was listed as a misdemeanor. He was taken into custody at 6:19 a.m. and booked into the Broward County Jail.
There were no details on the incident as of Friday morning. The Broward County Sheriff's web site also lists two other charges for Bess, of disorderly conduct and resisting an officer.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer, in its report on the marijuana photo that the Browns were looking into, said Bess is dealing with a serious family issue. He is from Oakland, Calif. Browns beat writer Mary Kay Cabot tied all of it together on Friday morning:
It was obvious that #Browns WR Davone Bess' was in some kind of distress from his recent postings on social media. Cries for help, IMO.

Bess, who just finished his sixth NFL season, has had some erratic behavior this week to say the least.
