On the same day that Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher killed his 22-year-old girlfriend before taking his own life at Chiefs headquarters, an employee of the Cleveland Browns committed suicide by hanging himself in the equipment shed at the team's Berea, Ohio, headquarters on Saturday, Jay Glazer reported during the Fox pregame show on Sunday.

According to News Channel 5, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner was summoned to the team's facility for a deceased male. Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports that employee has been identified as Eric Eucker, one of the team's groundskeepers.

The Browns have released the following statement, per Cabot's Twitter page.

"This is a terrible tragedy and our heartfelt condolences go out to Eric's family. Eric was a good friend and colleague, and an outstanding employee. He will be missed by everyone in the Cleveland Browns organization."

No players or coaches were present as the team had already departed for the Bay Area in advance of Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders.
