Roethlisberger's name and likeness were removed from a display at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium. Here's more from Pittsburgh's WPXI:
A life-size image of Roethlisberger has been part of a display that compares the height of elephants to other creatures. But the facility is having a new sign made that will replace Roethlisberger's image with one of former Pittsburgh Penguins star and team owner Mario Lemieux.
"Mr. Roethlisberger isn't the most popular person lately," Tracy Gray, the zoo's manager of public and media relations, said.
Oh boy. The man has been deemed unfit to help illustrate a point about the relative height of elephants. That's got to be close to rock bottom. Fortunately, Pittsburgh has another sports hero of a similar height, who is just as capable of helping educate youngsters about elephants.
Roethlisberger, of course, has twice been accused of sexual assault, though charges were never filed in either case. He was suspended by the NFL for six games, though.
