Athletes can break news on Twitter, too. Typically when it's good news.

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster returned to social media — he had been gone for more than a year — to announce that he has been given some good health news.

Foster ended last season on injured reserve with a back injury, and the Texans just watched Foster's backup, Ben Tate, sign a two-year contract with the Cleveland Browns on Saturday.

In eight games last season, Foster ran for 542 yards on 121 carries with one touchdown — all career lows in the NFL. He also caught 22 passes for 183 yards and a score.

Foster, who turns 28 years old in the preseason, had his back operated on in November, but the Texans have said since then that they believe he'll return next season ready to go. Perhaps Foster's tweet is a sign that things are very much on track.

That said, the Texans will need more depth at the position. After Foster, the only other backs on the roster currently are Dennis Johnson, Ray Graham and Jonathan Grimes.
