Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Dan Skuta was recently arrested in Orlando, charged with battery after he allegedly got violent with a woman who rebuffed his advances.

First reported by Jacksonville TV station CBS 47, Skuta was arrested in the early-morning hours of June 19 on misdemeanor battery charges.

According to the police report, a friend of the victim approached an officer and said her friend had been hit by a man, and identified the “tall male subject.” The officer detained the man, identified as Skuta.

The victim alleges that she and her friend were on the sidewalk when approached by Skuta, and Skuta began chatting and flirting with the victim. When Skuta asked for her phone number, she said no, and, the police report says, a verbal altercation ensued.

  • Johnny Manziel lawyer withdraws after text mixup; no guilty plea

Eric Edholm at Shutdown Corner15 hrs ago

After mistakenly texting the Associated Press confidential information about Johnny Manziel, one of Manziel's attorneys has withdrawn from representing him, according to Manziel's spokeswoman.

Bob Hinton had sent the AP a long text message on Friday —  which he said later was meant for another attorney — that appeared to be a precursor to a plea bargain in Manziel's domestic violence assault case in Texas. Hinton expressed concern about Manziel's ability to stay clean in the text.

Even by the standards of Johnny Manziel's 2016, the story the Associated Press reported on Friday is unbelievable.

The AP reportedthat Manziel's lawyer Bob Hinton mistakenly sent the AP a long text message, which he said later was meant for another attorney, presumably discussing a plea bargain in Manziel's domestic violence assault case and apparently suggesting he believes Manziel might have trouble staying clean if that is part of any deal.

"Heaven help us if one of the conditions is to pee in a bottle," Hinton accidentally wrote to the AP, the news organization says.

Hinton also wrote, the AP said, that he was emailed a "heads up" receipt "which purports to reflect" that Manziel spent more than $1,000 at a drug paraphernalia store this week, 15 hours after an incident in which his car was hit and the other car that hit his drove off.
