Peterson was driving his BMW on a state highway in a 55-mph zone. Anderson says he was given a citation and allowed to drive away. She called it a “very routine” traffic stop.
Peterson tells The Associated Press he didn’t realize how fast he was going. He said he “got a little speeding ticket” and said he planned to be more careful.
Hitting 109 on the speedometer is considered "very routine"? Where was this, Hazzard County? Was he pulled over by Roscoe P. Coltrane as he tried to foil some crime that had gotten by the local authorities?
A simple traffic ticket seems a little light for such an excessive speed, but what do I know? I'm no cop. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess, though, that when you get pulled over in a situation like that, it's helpful to be Adrian Peterson.
