Montee Ball's football Saturday ended in the second quarter against UTEP.
The Wisconsin running back and former Heisman Trophy finalist suffered a concussion while scoring the Badgers' first touchdown. Ball was hit hard by a UTEP defender when he crossed the goal line and stayed down for a couple extra seconds before getting up wobbly.
Trainers examined Ball on the sidelines and his helmet was promptly taken.
This is actually Ball's second concussion of the season. The first came before fall camp when five assailants attacked Ball near his apartment.
The sidelining ended a tough day for Ball. He also lost his first career fumble earlier in the game and was benched for a series.
