Watch Ohio coach Frank Solich ride a tricycle for charity

Dr. Vipin Koshal, a cardiologist at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio came up with an incredibly fun but also somewhat cruel way to raise money for the Central Ohio Heart Walk: Adults, including Ohio Bobcats head coach Frank Solich, racing on tiny tricycles.

"I really got the idea just watching my children play on the tricycle and thought it would be a wonderful fundraiser to put adults on them cause they’re awfully hard to ride,” Koshal told the Athens Messenger.

Solich was a game participant on Saturday morning, competing against the Athens City mayor, a local DJ and doctors and administrators from the hospital. He cruised to a victory in his qualifying heat, but tipped  his ride (look for Solich wearing the white shirt in the background) during the final run, allowing Athens police officer Rick Crossen to take the title.

“It’s a great cause,” said Solich in an interview with the Messenger. “It makes a lot of sense to do what you can to help (Dr. Koshal) and what he’s going to raise money for the American Heart Association. I have a lot of respect for doc and what the people do here. They’re a great group of people, and I know that the people in Athens appreciate the work they do here.”

Tuesday morning Solich's Bobcats were picked to win the MAC East Division in the league's preseason poll.
