Wake Forest announced the suspension of two players ahead of fall camp for violating team rules.

Defensive back Thomas Brown has been suspended one game and offensive lineman Ryan Anderson will miss five games for undisclosed violations.

Both players will be allowed to practice during their suspensions.

Anderson was the favorite to be the team’s starting center and Brown a starting safety.

Brown has played in 23 games in the past two years with one start. The highlight of his career came in 2013 when as a true freshman he returned a fumble 59 yards against Duke to give the Demon Deacons an early 7-0 lead in what would ultimately be a 28-21 loss.

Wake Forest also announced the addition of defensive back Deven Gaulden, who recently graduated from Wisconsin. Gaulden played in all 14 games a year ago and made five starts.
