One of the best touchdowns in college football last weekend probably should have never happened.
During Rhode Island's 32-7 loss to James Madison last weekend, receiver Brandon Johnson-Farrell made what looked like a spectacular heads-up move to roll over a defender who was tackling him and continue on to the end zone for the Rams' only score.
But upon closer examination, Johnson-Farrell should have been called down after the tackle.
As Johnson-Farrell tries to regain his balance following the hit, his knee touches the ground and he pops up to continue to score the 56-yard touchdown.
As controversial calls seem to dominate football talk this week, I thought this would be a good video of the day to show that it's happening everywhere, not just with replacement refs in the NFL. Of course, this touchdown didn't affect the outcome of the game and made for a really exciting play, but even in real-time, the play should have been blown down.
