Many college coaches are not close to being in the same shape they were when they played the game. Even though he's "30 pounds heavier than (his) playing days," Penn State wide receivers coach Josh Gattis proved that he is still quite the athlete.

Gattis was a standout safety at Wake Forest and played in the NFL for a few years for Jacksonville and Chicago. He was out to prove to the rest of the Penn State coaching staff that he could run the 40-yard dash in under 4.8 seconds.

The Penn State video crew was on the scene and even interviewed other members of the coaching staff for a nice build up to Gattis’ run.

Could he pull it off?

As you'll see, there were some discrepancies in the hand-timing among head coach James Franklin and a number of other staffers who were timing the run.

Whether he beat 4.8 or not, that was still pretty impressive.
