Throughout training camp, the quarterbacks of the New Orleans Saints have been competing in various competitions that are a little different than your ordinary passing drills. They’ve played everything from “QB Golf” to “QB Plinko,” and those competitions have been filmed and put on the Saints’ website.
Drawing inspiration from the Saints, Murray State’s group of quarterbacks, plus offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Mitch Stewart, showed off a game of their own.
As senior Parks Frazier (a former Ole Miss QB) explained, the five QBs and coach Stewart play a game that starts with seven footballs. Each player has a football, but when the extra football gets tossed toward one of the players, they have to get rid of the other football.
It gets pretty competitive – you’ll see what I mean.
Murray State, an FCS team that plays in the Ohio Valley Conference, is coming off a 6-6 season in 2013. This year, the Racers will go up against two FBS opponents – Louisville and Western Michigan – early on in the season.
I'm not exactly sure if this will help the Racers on the field, but it certainly looks cool.
