Vanderbilt RB Jerron Seymour dismissed

Vanderbilt running back Jerron Seymour is no longer on the team.

Seymour was dismissed by Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason. The school confirmed the dismissal on Wednesday, which, per VandySports.com, was for a violation of team rules.

The junior was Vanderbilt's best running back in 2013, but in 2014, he's missed time due to injuries and other issues.

Last season, Seymour had 716 yards and 14 touchdowns, both team highs. This season, his stats aren't even close. He has 25 carries for 123 yards. He's missed four games and his most productive game in 2014 was a nine-carry 41-yard performance against Georgia.

Ralph Webb has emerged as Vandy's primary running threat in 2014. The freshman has 185 carries for 838 yards and three touchdowns. Vanderbilt's second-leading rusher isn't even in the same zip code. Dallas Rivers has 184 yards.

Vanderbilt is at No. 4 Mississippi State on Saturday.
