UCLA offensive tackle Torian White has been suspended from the team after he was charged with sexual assault.
UCLA coach Jim Mora issued a statement about the suspension on Tuesday. According to the Los Angeles Times, White was arrested Sunday morning at 3 a.m. at an apartment complex near the campus.
“We are aware of the situation involving Torian White, and we take these accusations very seriously,” Mora said in the statement. “Torian has been suspended from the team indefinitely while the legal process and student discipline process run their course. Due to the ongoing police investigation, we are unable to discuss this matter further at this time.”
White, a starter at the beginning of the season, was injured on October 3 against Utah and hasn't played since. He broke his right ankle and also had surgery to fix a torn ligament.
