Tim Tebow says Florida's offense has leadership and identity issues

Missouri blew Florida out 42-13 at home over the weekend and former Gators quarterback Tim Tebow was not thrilled with the team’s effort.

Speaking on his weekly radio spot on 1010 XL Radio in Jacksonville, Tebow, now an analyst with the SEC Network, said the game was “tough to watch” and that this current Florida team did not “play with the heart that (he’s) used to” seeing out of Florida teams.

In the loss, Florida committed six turnovers and gave up four return touchdowns. The Gators are now 3-3 on the season and head coach Will Muschamp is firmly on the hot seat. The offense has struggled mightily throughout the year and Tebow thinks it lacks identity and leadership.

“One of the biggest problems on the offense is leadership,” Tebow said. “I don’t think that offense has an identity right now, and I don’t think that they know what they want their identity to be.”

The Gators are on a bye this week before playing No. 9 Georgia on Nov. 1 in Jacksonville. Tebow is hoping for a better effort out of the Gators when they face the Bulldogs.

“They need to get hyped and play with a chip on their shoulder when they come to Jacksonville,” Tebow said.

Tebow also thinks his alma mater still has a shot in a crowded SEC East.

“You need to have something to motivate you, something to give you an edge. They’re not out of the SEC East.”
