The duo lives on: Drake mentions Johnny Manziel in new song

After wearing a shirt with Johnny Manziel's face on it and having custom Manziel jerseys made for his crew, it makes total sense that the next step in Drake's love affair with the former Texas A&M quarterback was to include him in a song.

The rapper's new song "Draft Day" namedrops Manziel immediately. Plus, the picture for the song is Manziel being kissed by two women on spring break in 2013, the same picture that graces the aforementioned shirt.

(Click to listen the song below. But it's NSFW for inappropriate language.)

Drake also mentions Andrew Wiggins, who many believe could be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft, and actress Jennifer Lawrence.

Manziel became friends with Drake after he won the Heisman Trophy in 2012 and the rapper called them a "duo" in September. Before he broke out the shirt with Manziel's face on it, he showed off the custom jerseys in January.

When it was released Tuesday evening, Manziel helped promote it on Instagram.

If Drake makes a music video for the song, he better cast Manziel in a starring role and recreate the above picture after Manziel is chosen in the draft. (Presumably No. 1, because that's how these things go in music videos and movies.)

Our favorite moment from the song has nothing to do with Manziel, Wiggins or Lawrence. If you listen all the way to the end you're in for a surprise as there's a spoof of former Colorado coach Dan Hawkins' famous "It's Division One football!" rant. We're not sure what it's referencing, though. SEC teams usually get flack for scheduling weak nonconference opponents.

Missed reference aside, we're incredibly happy that Hawkins' timeless tirade is rap-song worthy seven years later.
