Case McCoy might have struggled some in the first half against Iowa State, but it’s amazing what a little luck will do for confidence.
With four seconds remaining in the first half and the Longhorns trailing 13-10, McCoy let loose a Hail Mary toward the end zone.
And it worked.
Texas’ tallest receiver John Harris, who is 6-foot-3, pulled the pass in with four Iowa State defenders all around him. The pass gave Texas a 17-13 lead going into halftime and quashed any momentum the Cyclones had generated late in the half.
