Syracuse coach Scott Shafer says Florida State’s the best team he’s seen

After his team was demolished by Florida State, Syracuse coach Scott Shafer had strong praise for the Seminoles.

Before he was an assistant and eventual head coach at Stanford, Shafer was an assistant at Stanford in 2007 and Michigan in 2008, where his teams played against USC (11-2), Penn State (11-2) and Ohio State (10-3).

Of course, Florida State is undefeated, and what it did to Syracuse is just an extension of what it's been doing to opponents all season. Through 10 games, the Seminoles have outscored opponents 527-111. Yes, that's an average margin of victory of over 40 points.

That's why it's not so crazy to wonder if Florida State will cover its ridiculous 56 point spread against Idaho on Saturday. It's always natural to stay away from such large favorites, but with the way that the Noles have been demolishing teams this year, 56 at halftime isn't crazy, right?
