Steve Spurrier and Kevin Sumlin trade barbs about scheduling and stats
Steve Spurrier and Kevin Sumlin are creating a nice little rivalry — in the media.
Spurrier was being Spurrier on Tuesday when asked about the SEC’s high-scoring stats and took an opportunity to take a shot at Texas A&M because, well, why not?
HBC on SEC high-scoring stats: "That's misleading ... Most of these teams play somebody like Lamar."

Of course, A&M’s soft nonconference schedule, which included Lamar, Rice, SMU and Louisiana-Monroe, has been a hot topic this season. Spurrier even used A&M’s nonconference scheduling from past years as fodder during the preseason to discredit A&M’s early success in the SEC.
Then, of course, in the 2014 season opener Sumlin’s Aggies humiliated Spurrier’s Gamecocks with a 52-28 shellacking that included 680 total yards of offense by the Aggies.
Sumlin, upon hearing about Spurrier’s comments Tuesday, had a great retort:
Sumlin: Keep hearing people think we haven't played anybody. I think they forgot about the first week.

I believe this round goes to Sumlin.
