SportsCenter anchor shows frustration with brief coverage of death of Kent State's Jason Bitsko (Video)

As a sports fan, I tend to instinctively flip to ESPN’s SportsCenter most times when I turn on my TV, but there are some days where I just can’t stand the show’s bombarding coverage of one or two main topics.

It used to be Tim Tebow, but that transferred over to nonstop segments about Johnny Manziel and, in the last week or so, injured Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller.

When SportsCenter devoted less than 30 seconds to the death of Kent State center Jason Bitsko, Miller's high school teammate, longtime anchor Neil Everett was clearly not pleased.

“Guys like Bitsko don’t get headlines. Those go to Manziel not starting in Cleveland and Miller unable to play in Columbus,” Everett said.

Then, seeming a bit exasperated and definitely angry, Everett turned it over to a reporter with another update on Miller and the Buckeyes.

A story out of the MAC is never going to get the kind of attention that goes to one of the nation’s top quarterbacks going down with a season-ending injury, but would it have hurt ESPN to reach out to someone from Kent State and spend more than 30 seconds on a serious issue?

Hopefully Everett and others voice more frustration behind closed doors.
