Rutgers reinstates WR Leonte Carroo

A day after the charges against him were dropped, Rutgers WR Leonte Carroo is back on the team.

Carroo was reinstated on Wednesday by coach Kyle Flood. The team's statement was two lines.

Flood reinstated Carroo after the student-athlete agreed to the conditions of his reinstatement and after he accepted the responsibility that comes with his return to the team.

Flood reinstated Carroo while he's suspended himself. Flood was suspended three games by the school after an investigation into emails Flood sent to a faculty member about the academic progress of a now-former Rutgers player.

Carroo was accused of assault in an incident outside the stadium following the team's game against Washington State in Week 2. He was suspended the day after the incident. A woman, who Carroo was allegedly once romantically involved with, had alleged that Carroo slammed her to the ground. The woman was involved in an incident with Carroo's girlfriend, who has filed suit against her.

Carroo was an All-Big Ten selection in 2014 with 53 catches for 1,043 yards and 10 touchdowns. He has seven catches for 181 yards and three touchdowns in 2015. Rutgers plays at Michigan State on Saturday. It's the final game of Flood's suspension.
