The illegal activity that led to Florida Atlantic firing coach Carl Pelini might not be limited to drug use.

According to Jeremy Fowler of CBSSports.com, athletic director Pat Chun said Pelini was involved in "other violations of university rules" but would not elaborate because the investigation was a human resources matter.

Pelini and defensive coordinator Pete Rekstis resigned Wednesday after admitting the use of illegal drugs. Chun said he was made aware of the illegal use on Monday and reported the matter to his General Counsel. Chun said two whistleblowers came to him with evidence of the illegal drug use, but Chun told CBSSports.com that that evidence did not include incriminating pictures.

Doing illegal drugs is a pretty big violation of university rules and who knows if we’ll ever learn what other rules Pelini and Rekstis may have violated and whether they were as severe as the one for which they resigned.

This is an ongoing investigation and we probably haven’t heard the last of it.
