Robbie Rhodes, a wide receiver that was expected to be a top target for Baylor, was dismissed from the program Monday.

David Smoak of 1660 ESPN Central Texas first reported the news, then Rhodes’ father confirmed the news to

Rhodes’ father, Reggie, told that his son “made another mistake” and was informed that he was “no longer a member of the program” on Monday morning. Rhodes had been arrested on marijuana possession and tampering charges in May when he was pulled over and an officer “found 5.8 grams of marijuana in a baggie under the front seat.”

Earlier this month, the McLennan County District Attorney declined to pursue the charges against Rhodes. According to his attorney, Rhodes had not failed any drug tests administered by Baylor, including a “test administered two days” before the arrest. Rhodes also was said to have passed a drug test in the days after the arrest.

Despite not being charged, Rhodes’ father told that his son “was disciplined by the school” and this latest incident “violated conditions of an agreement he’d made” to stay with the team.

“He was in agreement on sanctions that they made with him, and he broke the agreement,” Reggie Rhodes said.

Rhodes caught 10 passes for 157 yards in an injury-plagued freshman season in 2013. Rhodes, the No. 69 rated prospect in the class of 2013, was expected to compete for a starting job for the Bears in 2014.

Rhodes’ father said no decisions have been made in regards to a transfer.
