Penn State players played a funny prank on Twitter (USA Today Sports)
Jay Z will perform at the Bryce Jordan Center on Penn State’s campus Friday night. With the buzz surrounding the show and the rumors of Beyonce sightings in State College, some Penn State football players used it as an opportunity to play a fun prank on Twitter.
It started when sophomore linebacker Brandon Bell tweeted that Jay Z made a surprise stop to the football building to talk to the team.
Several other tweets from wide receiver Geno Lewis, defensive back Da’Quan Davis, running back Akeel Lynch, and defensive back Jordan Lucas, among others, also said that the legendary rapper had improbably stopped by the Lasch Building.
The tweets garnered dozens of retweets and favorites before about a half hour later, senior running back Bill Belton said it was all a joke.
They sure were convincing. Even new offensive line coach Herb Hand fell for the prank and he joked that he would have kicked a freestyle for Hova.
Well played, fellas.
