In a short time since joining the staff, Penn State offensive line coach Herb Hand has already endeared himself to the Nittany Lion fan base. While he may be new to Penn State fans, he was also a fan favorite at Vanderbilt during his four year tenure in Nashville.
With a few days off after the hectic weeks leading up to national signing day, Hand was able to go back to Tennessee and have a proper send off with his former players at Vanderbilt. He took them out for a meal Sunday and posted a nice after-meal photo to his Twitter account.

It’s a classy move from Hand – a guy who stuck around in Nashville for quite a while after James Franklin left, and even reportedly interviewed for the head coaching job. When the job went to former Stanford defensive coordinator Derek Mason, Hand made the move north to Penn State. Now he has a new group of linemen to form a bond with and he seems to be looking forward to it.
