Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze has often been championed as one of the good guys in college football.
He’s good with his players, recruits and fans, but even Freeze has his tipping point and apparently it came following the last-second 41-38 loss to Texas A&M last weekend.
As Freeze was walking off the field, a fan in the Ole Miss student section had some choice words for the second-year coach, who returned the barb as he was heading to the locker room. The fan must have said something pretty crazy because Freeze stopped before heading to the tunnel and tried to fight off his escorts to scream back at the fan.
Unfortunately, there no sound to know exactly what was said.
Freeze was asked about the altercation in the press conference and basically refused to answer the question.
Fans yell all sorts of things at coaches and players as they leave the field – especially in loses – but usually it’s ignored. This fan must have yelled something pretty personal to get Freeze so heated.
